My name is Loraine.
I am here on this earth because God created me with intention and purpose. As human beings I believe we are called to take care of the planet He created for us to dwell in.
"Then God said, 'Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. And I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, and the small animals that scurry along the ground—everything that has life.' -Genesis 1:29-30
Why did I start blogging?
I am a writer, but not a hermit-on-a-mountain kind of writer. I want people to frequently access and interact with my writing. That’s why I like blogging. It is a conversational form of writing. I also started blogging because I am a self-starter and have an entrepreneurial element stirring in my skill set. I love the business aspect of writing a blog. It’s an incredible opportunity with the potential to reach hundreds of thousands of people world wide with services, products and ideas.
What does my blog name mean?
Wholesome is a word I use to describe aspects that contribute to well-being. Valour is a compliment recognizing boldness and bravery. I teamed the two words together to describe the benefits gained from encountering tribulation.
"But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble". -Psalm 59:16 NIV
Everyone has a tale to tell. The name Wholesome Valour expresses my desire to lead people to find the virtue and heroism in their life stories: to tell of God’s fulfilling love.
What will you find at Wholesome Valour?

What makes me unique?
I am an INTJ female. This personality type is extremely rare, especially for women. You can be sure anything I have to offer will be thoroughly planned and precisely delivered. I am unnaturally quiet for a female, so you know I will be available to listen. And that when I write a post it will reflect quality over quantity. I am straightforward, straight-faced, highly analytical, logical and confident. When I write (or speak) about a subject, I am sure to know the intricate, complex details or honestly admit when I do not know the answer. Although I am introverted, I have an earnest passion for people. I am highly dedicated to seeing people further their personal and professional development.
I am also an Adult Third Culture Kid (ATCK). This means I spent a great deal of my formative years abroad. I fully understand what it is like to feel foreign, unfamiliar and to struggle leading an entirely new way of life, whether in a new country or making adjustments to your lifestyle in your home country.
What am I really good at?
Being the woman God designed me to be. Making informed decisions. Observing people’s actions and responses. Knowing how I come across to others. Predicting trends and outcomes. Creatively conveying concepts. Leading a crunchy, wholesome, granola lifestyle unapologetically.
My accomplishments include:
-B.S. Family Studies and Human Services
-Social Services Intern at a health centre in an impoverished community
-Community Educator for Eating Disorder Awareness and Prevention
-Certificate in Theology (Youth and Family Ministry)
-International Baccalaureate graduate with certificates in English & Geography
-Running Cross-Country (5k and 1500m)
What I like others to know about me.
I am extremely resilient. If something gets in my way, I am determined to rise above it and help others do the same. My testimony involves a history of chronic illness, atopic disease, allergies (food and environmental). God heard my prayers, saved and comforted me. I also know He created me a strong, empowered woman. I believe God uses our hardships for the greater good.
"Each time he said, 'My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.' So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong." -2 Corinthians 12:9
Unsatisfied with my reduced quality of life, I sought out ways to manage, and even prevent my health from further declining. I especially wanted to find ways to prevent my children from health problems. My research lead me to discover we live in a world laced with toxic chemicals. God did not create a world with inorganic matter. He made a world that was natural and good.
"Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!" -Genesis 1:31
There is modern day evidence to prove these inorganic, hazardous materials are the root cause of the vast health problems all over the world. After several years, I am still working hard to find answers and manage my health issues. Everyday I am making changes to renounce toxins in my life. I seek the most natural skin-care and personal products I can find. There is an organic alternative for everything! I want to live a lifestyle that helps take nurture the earth, not destroy it.
